Airport Rd., Dhaka City-1206, Bangladesh
While certainly one of the top hotels in Dhaka, the Radisson is creepy --especially for women business travellers. Lots of "security" men follow you around and roam the floors at night. Good security? Probably. But the net effect is that you feel watched all the time, even when eating. I ended up ordering room service which was ok. And the NOISE. The 5 nights of my stay included at least 2 major parties in the open lobby at center of the hotel. The noise travels up and echos. Some flight attendants who were there at the same time complained that they had asked for rooms in the side wing off the center lobby to avoid this consistent noise problem. In addition to the lobby parties, the hotel is near to the train tracks = more noise. The amenities shop (hotel store) in the lower level was really bad, selling dusty creme and hair spray from 1960. The check in and check out was slow and the english skills of the staff were so-so. But the location near the airport is good and the business lounge is good. The room was very clean and well kept with good linens and pillows. However, next time, I'm going to the Westin.
